Become a volunteer

Being a Naqah volunteer means giving some of your time, for free, to the association's activities: you help organise them, take part and bring your ideas. No experience needed: you learn by doing, together.

The path lasts a year and can be renewed. We shape it around the time you can give and what you enjoy doing.

The Ethical Charter

The Ethical and Values Charter is the pact that holds us together: it applies to members, volunteers and anyone who works with us. It doesn't ask everyone to think the same way, but to respect the dignity, freedom and rights of every person. These are the principles of conduct, in short.

For all people.

Responsibility

In the commitments we make.

Fairness and transparency

In what we do and say.

Collaboration

We work together, not alone.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need experience?

No. We'll support you: you learn by doing, together with the other volunteers.

How much time do I need to give?

Whatever you can: even a few hours a month or a single event. We only ask you to tell us clearly, so we can organise the work better.

Do I have to live in Marineo?

No. Most activities take place in Marineo and the surrounding area, but some things, such as communication and graphics, can also be done remotely.

I'm under 18: can I take part?

Write to us: we'll look at suitable activities together. Under-18s need a parent's consent.

Is volunteering paid?

No, it's unpaid: that's what the law says. We reimburse documented expenses for activities. If you're looking for a job or an assignment, see the Work with us page.

Do I have to become a member?

It's not compulsory. You can volunteer without being a member and, if you like, ask to become one later.

What will I actually do?

It's up to you: you help prepare workshops and events, look after communication and photos, welcome groups at Casa Naqah, take part in project design. We'll talk about it together at the first meeting.

Am I insured?

Yes. As required by the Italian Third Sector Code, volunteers are insured against accidents and for third-party liability.

Can I propose my own activity?

Yes. Many of our activities come from the ideas of the people who take part: tell us yours and we'll see together how to make it happen.

Can I volunteer abroad too?

Yes, with the European Solidarity Corps, if you are 18 to 30. Opportunities and how to apply are on the Erasmus+ Desk.
